International Japanese Sword Seminar
Date: Sunday October 6, 2019
Location: Aikijuku Dojo •
10591 Widmer Rd • Lenexa KS 66215

Content: Iaido instruction by Isao Machii Sensei, Shushin-ryu Iaijutsu, Shushinkan Headmaster, Hyogo, Japan. Shushinryu-Iai-Jutsu-Hyoho (修心流居合術兵法) is a school of old style Japanese martial art founded by Isao Machii. It derived from Muso Jikiden Eishinryu, previously called Muso Jikiden Eishinryu Machii School until it was renamed in 2005. Although Shushinryu is famous for its lightning draw and cut (居合斬り), it is a comprehensive martial system comprising of various weapon arts including Kenjutsu, Naginata-Jutsu, Shuriken-Jutsu, etc. Most unique among these arts is its Iai-jujutsu, which embodies the principles of Iai in the form of taijutsu. In Shushinryu, cuts are not just swinging a sword, they also break your opponent’s balance and take their center with minimal body movement. The iai forms of Shushinryu strictly adhere to those of Eishinryu as reimagined by Machii himself with his insights in martial principles. If you are interested in studying a martially effective sword skill which can also enhance your empty hand techniques, attend this seminar!
Notes: Either bring your own bokken with saya (sheathed wooden sword) or iaito (iai practice sword); Or please pre-order one of these below.
