The Kansas City Bridge Seminar began in 2016. The seminar will feature Hiroshi Ikeda Shihan from the Boulder Aikikai, Boulder Colorado USA, Ryoichi Kinoshita Shihan from the Suisenkan Dojo in Osaka, Japan, and Jim Alvarez Sensei from Aikido of Livermore. Ikeda Shihan (7th Dan) is world famous and travels extensively conducting Aikido seminars within the USA and Europe as well as other parts of the world. Kinoshita Shihan (7th Dan) served on the instructional staff at Amenotakemusu Juku Aikido Dojo under Seiseki Abe Sensei for three decades and is the chief instructor at the Suisenkan Dojo in Osaka. Alvarez Sensei holds the rank of 6th dan in Aikido and also holds the rank of Shinkendo Kyoshi & Toyama Ryu Batto-do 5th dan certified by the International Shinkendo Federation. The 2021 KC Bridge Seminar will also feature regional guest instructors. Please join us for what will prove to be a uniquely valuable training experience!

This seminar will expand on the bridge seminar concept through being a dojo-to-dojo seminar. Students and teachers will train together in multiple locations and will be connected via Zoom. The hope is that it will allow people to develop relationships more easily and enable students to attend bridge seminars more easily as well. Our goal is for this new type of seminar to contribute to improved sharing of ideas and raise the level of everyone’s training.
For students taking part in-person at Aikijuku Dojo and Boulder Aikikai, proof of COVID-19 vaccinations will be required for on-site participation.
